Immerse yourself in the design, cutting, and stamping process of making your own block printed tote bag. Taking inspiration from the nature-driven patterns of Japanese woodblock prints, you’ll learn how to design and hand-print a repeating textile pattern. We’ll discuss the history and symbolism of ukiyo-e prints and reference some of the many examples we have in our collection for added inspiration. Cost of registration ($65) covers instruction and all materials. This workshop is led by Art Lab Studio Educator Britta Urness. Registration is required by November 2nd. Register here.

Choose the date that's best for you! This workshop is being offered on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 1–4pm or Friday, Nov. 13 from 7–10pm.

Material kits for this workshop are included in the cost of registration. Kits are available for curbside pick-up at the MSU Broad Art Lab between 12pm and 5pm beginning the Saturday prior to the date of the workshop (Oct. 31st). If you are unable to pick-up materials please email us at
