The MSU Science Festival is an amazing, multi-day series of events that highlight the fascinating, though oft overlooked, fields of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (aka: STEAM). Now, hold on to your hats: the festival features talks, demonstrators, tours, open houses, guest speakers, hands-on activities and much more. You will have the opportunity to explore the latest in cutting-edge science, discover concepts that have been influencing new discoveries for centuries, exchange ideas with researchers and participate first-hand in experiments that turn ideas into reality. You really have to experience it to believe it!
Many first-timers arrive thinking the festival is for kids only: but they are quickly (and quite brilliantly!) surprised to discover countless programs and presentations everyone wants to see—from the oldest to the youngest, from the novice to the knowledgable. We encourage you to thoroughly explore the schedule and note everything everyone wants to visit—this way no one in your party misses out on anything.
You may also like to keep in mind that the festival works in partnership with a number of outstanding institutions, museums, science centers and STEAM professionals across the state; so in addition to events being offered on the East Lansing campus of Michigan State University, presentations are also offered in a variety of locations throughout Michigan. Be sure to explore new territory and have a great time discovering the many incredible resources right in Michigan.
